SOLAS SafePass

SafePass is a one-day health and safety awareness programme. The aim of the programme is to improve your knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards and practices in the construction industry. During the day, you’ll cover the following learning units:

  • Introduction of Site Safety
  • Legislation and Site Safety
  • Site Accident Reporting
  • Introduction to Risk Assessment
  • Risk Assessment for Electricity
  • Risk Assessment for Excavations
  • Risk Assessment for Heights
  • Behaviour-Based Safety
  • Site Safety and Construction Equipment
  • Site Safety and Construction Vehicles
  • Personal Health and Welfare
  • Noise and Vibration
  • Personal Protective Equipment

TIME:

8am SHARP - 4pm

After your payment please email the NAME AND MOBILE NUMBER of EACH CANDIDATE to mooneyhss@gmail.com.

If you have 4 or more candidates for SafePass please email our office mooneyhss@gmail.com.

Bring the following with you for Registration on the morning of your SafePass Course (8am SHARP):

  • One passport-sized, passport quality photograph of yourself
  • your P.P.S. number OR SOLAS Process Number (contact our office asap if you have neither)
  • Photo I.D: Passport, Driving Licence, or Public Services Card
  • A packed lunch (no shop near this venue, tea & coffee and microwave oven available at the venue)

SafePass Terms and Conditions


  1. Candidate(s) must be at least 16 years of age on the day of the course.
  2. Candidates must have a Republic of Ireland PPS Number or a SOLAS Process Number to attend a SafePass course (required items) Please email if you do not have a PPS Number or a SOLAS Process Number.
  3. Should candidate(s) arrive at the course after Course Registration has been completed by the course tutor, entry to the course is not permitted (as per SOLAS SafePass Code of Practice) and no refund in respect of the monies paid for the course will be issued.
  4. Should candidate(s) fail to pass a course assessment, there are no refunds in respect of the monies paid for the course.
  5. Candidate(s) are expected to be competent in the English language to a level to be able to understand and participate fully in the course content. If a candidate is unable to understand and participate fully in the course content because of language difficulties the candidate(s) will forfeit the course fee and be referred to an interpreted course in the candidate’s language.
  6. Candidates are expected to co-operate fully with our tutors/staff and participate in course activities throughout the day. Candidate(s) failing to co-operate will be asked to leave the premises, any course work up to that point will be deemed null/void and no refund in respect of the monies paid for the course will be issued.
  7. Should candidate(s) fail to pass a course assessment, no refund in respect of the monies paid for the course will be issued.
  8. Aggressive or violent behaviour from candidates towards our tutors, staff, other candidates, or member(s) of the public will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Candidate(s) will be asked to leave the premises, any course work up to that point will be deemed null and void and no refund in respect of the monies paid for the course will be issued.
  9. As per SOLAS SafePass Code of Practice, the maximum number of candidates on this course is 20. The course cannot commence with more than 20 candidates on the day. If less than a minimum number of candidates are present on the morning of the course as per SOLAS regulations the course will be postponed to a later date.
  10. Health & Safety Services reserves the right to postpone or cancel a course. In this event, a candidate can opt to attend the next available course or get a full refund.
